The Last Makan

It's the last makan before Ramadhan.. Most of the teachers and staff brought their food from home, which makes the table full of delicious foods that we found hard to choose from..

Hjh Neda, Pai and I ordered around 10 dozens of Nasi Pulut... There was also a veriety of rice and noodle dishes as well as beverages such as cendol, cocktail, etc.

Bon Voyage

This afternoon we had a high tea treat at Wecan Restaurant in Gadong given by Shyedda, who will leave for her postgrad study in UK in early September, and together with Pai celebrating their belated birthdays.

Thanks Shyedda for the treat and all the beautiful memories we had together as close friends. I can't imagine going through the days without you in our school, and I believe all the other friends do feel the same.

I wish you success in your study, and don't forget to keep us in touch. Maybe we could have a video chat on Hotmail once in a while, hehe.

And if you feel like missing Brunei and your friends here, just listen to the song "Pelangi Petang"... :)

Dikir Diba'ie Workshop

Today, our department organized a Dikir Diba'ie workshop for female staff as one of our school's Professional Development programs. The workshop was conducted by me and my colleague.

Alhamdulillah, the participants - who were divided into three groups - managed to follow and catch up with the dikir taught to them titled "Allah Allah Maulana".

Cikgu Khadijah Hj Abd Hamid, our Senior Mistress of Academic was in attendance to present the certificates to representatives from each group. Also in attendance were the Assistant Senior Mistress of Academic, Cikgu Faeizah as well as Heads of Malay, Maths, Geography, History and Social Studies Departments.

Religious Oration

The 20th Inter-Secondary Schools and Colleges Religious Oration Competition Final was held yesterday at the Sultan Hassan Secondary School in Bangar, Temburong. Five students representing their schools in each category: Male and Female.

Our school was represented by Abdul Faiz bin Zaini. Delivering "Ikhlas dan Amanah Membawa Kemakmuran Negara", he managed to notch third place in the male category, only losing to Mohd Abdul Hafiz bin Hapni (first place) from Maktab Sains PSBS and Nurul Syakirin bin Al-Hussaini (second place) from SM Sultan Hassan.

The night before the competition, Faiz stayed at our apartment, where my hubby (who prepared the oration text himself) and I gave him some guidance and tips on how to deliver the oration in a better way.

Karikatur @ Season

Alai n Adik had their charicature drawn by Indera@Abg Jit Manis while we had our dinner at Season Restaurant last Thursday evening. FYI, now Season Retaurant is featuring Brunei Food (Kenali Makanan Kitani)... a good opportunity to indulge some authentic and exotic Bruneian Malay food, which we might hard to find at home and ordinary restaurants.

Pertandingan Dikir Diba'ie

Pada hari Khamis yang lalu, Pertandingan Dikir Diba'ie bagi Sekolah-Sekolah dan Maktab-Maktab Senegara telah diadakan di Sekolah Menengah Mentiri (krg check namanya.. hehe). Walaupun sekolah kami tidak berjaya melangkah ke peringkat akhir, syabas dan tahniah diucapkan kepada wakil-wakil dari sekolah kami kerana telah memberikan persembahan yang memuaskan.
